After playing Stranded for a few days, I have come up with a few suggestions for things you should implement in the future. If anything I list have already been suggested or if you are already planning to implement them, please say so.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The ocean: I have noticed that when you drink the ocean water, nothing happens. If you haven't already thought about it, I would suggest making the water cause the players health to drop a little every time they drink from the ocean. This would be due to the unhealthy amount of salt there is in the ocean, which could also cause dehydration to occur a little faster. This would make ocean water be a 'last resort' source of water that a player can go to for water.

Alternative water sources: If you do decide to implement health loss due to drinking ocean water, may I suggest a two alternatives? One alternative would be wells (which I suppose you would implement). Due to the salt in the ocean, a well would be a more healthy idea in terms of the water itself. The downside of a well is that you must have a bucket to use it since the water is usually all the way at the bottom. The second alternative would be springs and waterfalls. Since I can tell there are/will be bottles, you should be able to bottle up the water from springs and waterfalls so you can drink it later. Since spring water is usually fresh, you take minimal health loss and maybe it will take a little longer for a player to dehydrate.

Player genders: I know when you select what your character looks like when you first join a server you can change your looks, but you should also be able to choose your character's gender. The body for a female would be simple to do (just use the basic girl torso from the roblox catalogue), but making a second set of each type of armour would be a pain in the neck to do.

Notes/Letters/Message in a bottle/Mailboxes: So, you want to say something to another player but you don't want to use any of the air in your lungs to scream or shout. Why not leave them a little note or leave a letter in their mailbox? Are you far away from them and it takes too long for you to get to them? Send them a message in a bottle! If you have a bottle and you have finished what you have written you could select either to make it a message in a bottle, a letter (if you have an 'envelope') or an average note that you can place and move around with the drag tool. The GUI would be set out like a rough piece of paper and when the player types, the message is written. The GUI for a written letter would be a crumpled piece of paper with the sender's writing on it. The way you make paper would be if you make a filter out of two small handles, take cut leaves and turn them into an item called 'leaf pulp' which then can be used in the filter to create paper (of course it would take time to do it. About 10 seconds for one piece of paper would do?).

Dyes made from flowers: If you want a little added decoration in Stranded then you should make flowers that could be dotted around the mainland, megaland and other grassy islands. Though it might be nice looking, but the flowers would also serve a function; turn the flowers into pulp and use them as dyes! This way you could colour linen clothing and leaf clothing so you aren't stuck with the same brown and 'zombie green' coloured clothes (which gets kind of boring to see after a while and is kind of bland). Players could also use them to paint pictures that could be implemented if you take the idea of paper.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Please read them carefully and leave any questions or comments about the suggestions I have made; and again, PLEASE tell me if you have already planned any of these or if someone has already suggested them.

For the sea water, dehydration doesn't occur faster, this happens.

-Water enters blood stream
-Blood cells want the concentration of water outside of the cell to be the same as the inside, but now that there's salt, the concentration outside is very low
-Cells let out water
-You actually become thirstier.

Called reverse osmosis, something you learn in environmental science, but I think that drinking ocean water should just make your thirst drop.

The Ocean
> If I am not mistaken it is already planned in the latest version

Alternative water sources
> I hope this implemented, but if we do have wells I was hoping to using the mining system for well
Let me explain,
You have a well and defaultly there will be like 2 pools of water that can be directly drank from or use a bucket on, once the pools are used up the player can enter the underground for the well, then to get more water you must mine downward, but it will cost 1 wood to create a permanent ladder up, or use a rope for a temporary way of getting up

Player genders
> Agreed

Notes/Letters/Message in a bottle/Mailboxes
> Eh I guess, but I wouldn't support this heavily

Dyes made from flowers
> Planned, and there will be over a million colors if jobro implements the Color3 parts for dyes!

The letters and mailboxes could be very cool if there was a legit village and it could be used to give news, I could make that easily if I wanted to. Razz

Message in a bottle...well, think about just how unlikely it is for a bottle just randomly thrown into the ocean to reach the intended recipient? It's more likely that it's just going to wash up on the same shore.

@MemoryAddress
Well with that said, I did read something about water currents and came up with the idea of the message in a bottle. However, I was even doubting that idea since it would make things kind of confusing.
@Zokorio
That sounds like something fun to do! I was also thinking that if you have certain dyes you could change the colour of the text? It's just a thought, I'm not expecting anyone to go along with that idea.
@Xulp
Well even though I'm in year 10 of high-school, my teachers lacked the information to teach us that; but I guess that is a better way to put it...
@Fattycat17
1. By what I've played so far, when you drink ocean water your thirst goes up but nothing else happens.
2. That seems logical, since you do have to dig further down to get more water. Then again, if rain is added to the game then the well could fill up due to the rain (maybe?).
3. I'm glad. Even though it's a survival game, you could still have an in-game family or just Role-Play once you've created a town. It would make distinguishing other players a little easier.
4. Well... I know the message in a bottle would most likely fail due to how confusing it would be, but the notes, letters to other players and letterboxes would work. It would be fun! :3
5. Surely that's an overstatement... How can roblox handle over a million colors that aren't in their list of colors?

Color3 bricks, makes possible 255*255*255 color combinations (16,581,375 in case you were wondering).

Not millions, but still, probably far more then we'll need.

Using these 2 concepts we can have 16,581,375 dyes

I like the flower gene...now time to recode it to see if I can do it c:

EDIT: Done.
This is probably nowhere near as fancy as fatty's (fixed area for flower spawns as opposed to relative to the parent flowers), however it's pretty cool.

Depending on when you look at these some of them might still be processing.

Ah, I see... I guess I have been a bit confused and I apologise about that.

But seriously... 16,581,375 dyes? What would they be used for? Flags, clothing and ink? With that coding, that is just extraordinary! I never actually knew that things like that existed in the roblox script engine. X_x'

We plan on using the dyes for all kinds of things, that aren't applicable in the current version.
