Idea/Suggestion Animals

Post by antishock Sat Nov 29, 2014 5:56 am

Reproduction:  If two of the same animals stay in a certain radius near each other for more than eight seconds, there is a 3/10 chance that a baby will be produced.  However, if no baby is produced, the animals can't try again for three whole minutes.

Babies:  Babies will go through four stages.  New-born, Child, Teen, Adult.  The amount of meat dropped is proportional to the stage it is currently on.  An Adult will give more to your hunger than a Child will.  The baby will be followed around by one of the parents until it reaches the Teen stage.

Modes:  Most animals will have three modes.  Passive, Aggressive, and Frightened.
Passive: mode in which most animals are in by default.  In this mode, they roam around normally and will not attack.
Aggressive: mode in which animals attack.  Some animals are in this mode by default.  If a New-born or Child is attacked, the parent will enter the aggressive mode and attack.  If an animal is attacked, sometimes, depending on how much damage it took, it will enter this mode.
Frightened: mode in which some animals are in by default.  Frightened animals tend to run from players.  New-born and Child animals will automatically run when a player enters a certain radius around it.  Animals can enter it through three different ways.  By default, by a player coming close to it, or by being attacked.  Most of the time, when an animal is attacked, it will enter this mode instead of the Aggressive mode.

Weak Points:  If you are hunting an animal, hitting certain body parts have certain effects.  Hitting the head will do more damage.  Hitting the legs will lower the speed of the animal.  Hitting the torso won't do much.  Yeah, headshots are way better!

Bones:  When an animal is dead, through the use of certain tools, bones can be pulled out.  Bones can either be used for decoration or it can be used for a bone club.  Bone clubs won't do much damage but...  Who wouldn't want to have one?  I can think of many ways I can annoy people with a bone club.

On a completely different note, I just wanted to say something about blargety's idea for diverse combat.  Shouldn't it be kind of like my super old suggestion a long time ago where instead of leveling up bluntness and such, you level up your weapon proficiency.  After all, hitting someone with a wooden club and mastering it doesn't mean you can all of a sudden be a master at an iron club.

Sorry if I came off kind of rude there -_-

I think I wasn't very specific when I said weapons proficiency. What I meant to say was your proficiency on a certain weapon. Smile

Nice ideas. Good point on weapon skills!

I will be working on this game in the vacation which starts after about one week. I hope to make some progress, maybe I can release something playable.
