Add Saving?

A quite of annoying topic on survival games always were "saving". The 303 comments are spammed with people who want to save stats.

After playing Apocalypse Rising I have the feeling I can reconsider my first thoughts. I didn't want to add saving, as in "you spawn with the last tools and resources you had in the backpack, on the same location", because then one guy could be extremely powerful and others would be very easy to kill.

That's exactly what's happening in Apoc, and it's also one of the things that makes the game fun.

Which makes me think... Should we try this?

This would solve the problem of crafts that are impossible to reach. Over time, you can get some extremely powerful resources and tools to make some extremely cool crafts! (That is, you don't have to "hold" a server with a tribe to make this, but you can take several days doing this - in teams or solo!)

I agree. It can take hours to get bronze/iron tools, and I imagine it would take days to get to the Information Age.

Indeed, it would not be fair to start over.

Well, the nice thing is, we can always test these kind of things. If it doesn't work, we just don't do it Smile

Meh I don't like the idea of saving and if so there should be some sort of cost
for example :
There should be a tool complexity cap (Not relating to DP complexity)
EX :
Hammerstone complexity : 1
Bronze Sword complexity : 5
then the max complexity should be 10
So people can't be over powered as soon as they join.

We will get a tool limit in the backpack slots... Would that fix the problem?
