Another interesting one. I have been thinking about it and there are some things we can do:
static map
Predefined map with islands. Just like we have it now.
half-static / dynamic map
Predefined map with islands (randomly placed?). Or, islands with random things in them, such as the height of mountains.
Dynamic map
A competely randomized map.

Yea that would be cool, or when the first person joins they choose the map style?

I personally think a hybrid map would be best. Premade islands, but randomly chosen and placed into the game. A completely static map can get pretty boring, but a completely dynamic map isn't really the best way to immerse gameplay in my opinion.
