This is a project on creating the ultimate survival game on ROBLOX. Link to the game so far: http://web.roblox.com/IMPORTANT-NOTICE-Stranded-Episode-One-place?id=70200915. We have created this forum at the beginning of remaking the game. We are working hard to recreate everything with an API to organize the scripting, and we all want to help. As jobro13 said:

Basically, I will provide an API and IDE. People can apply to designing, building and coding, which all have "moderators" which will post tasks. The building team is (needs to) work on islands. These moderators can post "tasks" (jobs) which one can voluntary take. He/she then has a decent ammount of time to finish it. Like this, we can make a great game, where anyone can help. Even people who only help 5 minutes on thi game can actually contribute. I think that's the power of the whole idea.
I am working on the API. It uses a "roblox-like" structure (with instances as "game" and also events). The IDE will be sandboxed and tools will be provided to export and import scripts (global dp will help on this I guess!). The API will make coding much more organized.
The game itself is about surviving. You will start with almost nothing and the goal is mainly to survive, but you will see that surviving is much more simpler when you got the right technology. There are a lot of ways to survive, friendly and aggressive ways, which makes this also a game with a lot of emotion behind it.
The game has a focus on realism and balance. Of course, there will be a huge difference between people with a huge improvement on technology, but this won't get annoying (you don't have to approach these people!). There will be a balanced world too. The realism will be just "realism". It wont be possible to make a superman flying cape for example
